Baby Elephant easy cot quilt squares
A colleague at work was about to become a father for the first time. He comes from Sri Lanka so I hoped he liked Elephants as I wanted to use these gorgeous fabrics by Jay-Cyn. They have a wide selection of different colours both with elephants, with spots or just plain fabric. Their fabric has a lovely feel to it and is a dream to sew and quilt with.
Here is a picture of the front. As you can see I have mixed up the direction of the elephant squares for this one. I could have left them all facing the same direction.
What I do, after cutting all the squares out, is lay them out on a large table and set out a few rows to see how I like the effect. This allows you to try quite a few different layouts.
Easy cot quilt squares close up.
As you can see from the close up it’s the material that really makes this quilt so special.
Tips to make neat joins:
- Don’t rush your cutting, make each square perfect.
- Don’t try and rotary cut more than 4 layers of fabrics at one.
