What better present for a 90th than an easy quilted throw.
I was going to Europe and was making a special trip to see my mother in law who was turning 90. It was 2 weeks before I was leaving that I realised I hadn’t thought about a present for her… shame!
I had this fantastic material in my stash and decided to make her a throw. She always loved hand made presents and over the years I made her needlepoint items and cushions.
Now I decided that this material would make a wonderful throw.
I had used this same pattern on my easy cot quilts and now decide to just extend it to make the easy quilted throw.
Backing for easy quilted throw
I didn’t have any material that was suitable for the backing and as this was a special easy quilted throw I rushed off to my favourite quilt shop in East Malvern, Melbourne.
The ladies there are very experienced and very helpful. It wasn’t long before we decided on a Chinese style backing material in a beautiful gold hew.
Pusch was thrilled with the easy quilted throw and uses when the days are cold!
